Can I talk to someone before I book an appointment?
While we don’t offer free discovery calls, we do provide a comprehensive two-part initial consultation. This includes an in-depth review of your health history, goals, and lab results, culminating in a Personalized Care Plan. You’ll gain valuable insights into your health, understand the root causes of your symptoms, and receive tailored recommendations—even if you choose not to proceed with us. This approach ensures a good fit while honoring the time and dedication of our nurse practitioners to all their patients.
What is the benefit of using BHRT over traditional hormone replacement therapy (HRT)?
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) differs from traditional hormone replacement therapy (HRT) by using hormones that are chemically identical to those produced by the body, rather than synthetic or animal-derived ones. This may lead to fewer side effects and a more natural response.
Do you only treat cisgender women?
At Nova Vida Wellness, we specialize in women’s hormonal health and welcome all individuals who identify as women. However, we do not provide gender-affirming hormone therapy. For those seeking gender-affirming care, we recommend visiting TransMaryland for providers and additional resources. Our team is here to support all women with concerns related to thyroid health, fatigue, weight management, and other hormone-related issues.
Can you be my primary care provider?
At Nova Vida Wellness, we specialize in women’s wellness and longevity, focusing on thyroid health, bioidentical hormones, and weight management. For your safety, we require regular visits with an in-person PCP or OB-GYN. If we identify a concern beyond our scope, we will recommend follow-up with your PCP, who may refer you to a specialist if needed. Please note that we do not provide specialist referrals or order advanced imaging, such as mammograms, CT scans, or ultrasounds.
Do you accept insurance?
Unfortunately we do not participate with any insurance but we can provide an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. This is usually only available to patients that have out-of-network benefits, which can be found by calling your insurance company.
Do you see patients in Multiple States?
At this time, we are only able to provide care for patients who reside in the state of Maryland. Due to both state and federal regulations, you must be physically located in Maryland during your Telehealth appointment.
Refund Policy
In order to request a visit with a a Nova Vida Wellness provider, a valid payment method will need to be on file. The visit fee will be collected once the visit has been completed and the provider has made the chart available to the patient. A transaction may be eligible for a refund up to 30 days from the date of the completed visit. After this period, Nova Vida Wellness will not review or issue refunds for captured payments.
Nova Vida Wellness does not guarantee that medication will be prescribed by the treating Medical Provider as they may determine medication is not medically necessary and/or is in violation of Nova Vida Wellness's Prescription Policy. Refunds for completed visits will not be provided solely on the basis that medication was not prescribed.
